Project - Orchids of Czech Republic

- one of the main reasons why this has been created is that there are not so much ilustrated scientific books with proper quality here in Czech rep. With my friend and botanical expert, Ladislav Hoskovec, we've decided to create ilustrations which are capable to remind czech botanical ilustrations from 70s as these were world's top quality. As a subject we have chosen: Orchids from Czech Republic because they are very rare and this is a favourite subject of local botanist at all. As a model I have used photographs because it's very hard and almost impossible to find these in nature terrain. Have used water colours in format 59,4 x 42cm. Also I have created ,,handmade'' case (made for measure) which is covered by original japanese paper.

Project - 120

-pictures are inspired by a book ,,120 days of Sodom'' by French writer Marquis de Sade. Ilustrations are made in very naturalistic way to be more closer to book's text which is very descriptive. I have also seen a movie Salo o le 120 giornate di Sodoma, directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini in 1975. I have been influenced by this movie also and it is projected (screened) on my pictures. As I was trying to create negative feelings and a resistance there is a point of needing for returning back to my pictures. Pictures are made by black crayon in format 70 x 50cm and mixed media in format 110 x 80cm.
